Grade 4 excursion to CERES

On the 5th of September, Grade 4 students had a fun filled excursion to CERES. We arrived around 9.30am and stayed in our grades to form 4 groups.

The soil activity was interesting and required the students to identify the types of soils found around this area. Students were also asked to do a ph. test and find the most fertile soil. Everyone enjoyed this activity heaps and were very familiar with the information as we looked at this in detail within our science topic.

The best activity was the samples of rocks we had to look at. We were given the opportunity to hold some fossils and different types of rocks which the students were very excited about. Our favourite fossil was the dinosaur raptor nail

Our day at CERES was filled with lots of learning and most importantly fun.

LITERACY WEEK

Favourite Bedtime Story Day was celebrated on Thursday 31st August 2017, as part of National Literacy Week. Students in Foundation-Grade 2 came to school wearing their pyjamas with their favourite picture story book; and senior students worked on a mini project based on their favourite book.

At 11:50am, each classroom met with their buddy classroom and students had an opportunity to share their favourite book and project with their buddy. It was really exciting to share our love for reading, to talk about the books we love most and to present our amazing projects with another classroom! The students and teachers really enjoyed celebrating this wonderful event. We hope you enjoy looking at the photos.
